New Forest District, BH25 · New Milton
New Milton data recovery. Housebuilders, holiday parks and a station on the main line.
New Milton's civil parish counted 25,546 people at the 2021 census, Barton on Sea included. The station opened in March 1888 and stands on the Waterloo to Weymouth main line, with South Western Railway running through Brockenhurst into Southampton Central; by road it is the A35, north-east through Lyndhurst. Pennyfarthing Homes keeps its head office at Ossemsley, and the water tower of 1900 still stands over the streets.

Not listed? Try the fault finder →| The complaint | Why it happens here | First step |
|---|---|---|
| A surveyor's laptop back from a plot visit | Setting-out figures, plot photographs and a drawing set nobody else holds | Image the disk before the file is reworked |
| A holiday park's booking and arrivals PC | One box holding a season of reservations, deposits and pitch records | Recovery ours, rebuild yours |
| A card filled over an event weekend | Cards get swapped mid-shoot, and the full one goes in a pocket | Stop writing to it; post it as found |
| An office NAS showing two bays amber | Drawings, valuations and site photography on a box that warned nobody | Power it down and send every disk |
| A museum volunteer's cataloguing drive | Object records, scans and a photographic archive built up over years | Send it as found; nothing is opened uninvited |
How New Milton jobs are run.
New Milton, four questions.
Does New Milton cover take in Barton on Sea and Ashley too?
It does — the civil parish is the unit and the whole of BH25 is treated alike. Media reaches the intake laboratory as tracked, insured post, so whereabouts in the parish a machine was standing has no bearing on the queue, the timescale or the figure quoted.
Site files are on a drive that will not mount. What do you need from us?
The make and model, the last thing it was asked to do before it stopped, and the folders wanted first — plot numbers, drawing sets, the site photography. Imaging comes before anything else is tried, and the copy that goes back to you is written to fresh media at our cost.
A holiday park's booking machine failed mid-season. Can it jump the queue?
Say 'business down' on the phone and the case opens as priority: imaged first, then worked continuously rather than picked up in gaps. Diagnosis is free either way and the written quote still comes before any work. Queue position is the only thing that alters.
Should we post the whole computer, or just the drive out of it?
Just the drive, nearly always. Two kinds of unit we will take whole: an external still in its enclosure, and a NAS. Anything that is a server, or a RAID set out of one, arrives as bare disks with the bay number written on each. Phones and tablets we do not handle.
